TONE JUNKIE CABINETS
The two main Tone Junkie cabinet designs came about over several years of prototyping. During that time I have found that specific sizes, construction, and materials are needed to create a natural and big sounding cab. The cabinets are made of solid pine that creates a much more lively and interactive cab than a plywood box (To me this is like a tube amp compared to solid state). The speaker baffle and back baffles are made of select birch plywood. The back baffle has a tuned circular or oval port, which adds to the overall tonal response of the cabinet.
2X12 CABINETS
The usual color scheme is black Tolex with black grill cloth and white piping. The standard 2x12 layout is for an upright cab, I often add another handle to the side for ease of carrying ($20). The overall dimentisons are 29.75 x 20.75 x 11.25 (inches). The back baffle and its tuned oval port (15 x 9) lends a very smooth response to the cabinet.
1X12 CABINETS
The usual color scheme is black Tolex with black grill cloth and white piping. The standard 1x12 layout is one set of feet and handle on the opposite side. This particular customer wanted no handle on the top of the cab so I added a side handle and another set of feet. The back baffle has a tuned circular port. This is the largest sounding 1x12 there is. My favorite speaker is in this cab, a Celestion G12-65. A Tone Junkie Electronics ODS head on in the pic on the left.
